Erwan STEPHAN is a student in ESTI's Smart Energy Logistics at ESTI and with Engie Solutions. Find out more in 2 minutes.
What's your background?
Coming from a Bac STI2D, I quickly became interested in the field of renewable energy. From 2018 to 2020, I studied at the IUT de Lorient doing a DUT Génie Thermique et Energie.
Wanting to get closer to more technical professions, I extended my studies with a work-study program in Energy, Electricity and Sustainable Development Management atESTI. It was there that I discovered the work-study approach, which was both beneficial and very enriching.
For these two reasons, I joined ESTI's Smart Energy Logistics Master's program. Today, this course enables me to acquire a wide range of skills in project management and the analysis of energy consumption in industry.
Can you tell us about the Mastère SEL?
This is a course in energy logistics, integrated into the Logistics and Purchasing Management program. The course is exclusively part-time, with 2 weeks of training and 6 weeks of work experience. The aim is to decarbonize the supply chain, companies and local authorities. To achieve this, we have a team of lecturers who are experts in their fields: renewable energies (hydrogen, photovoltaics, wind power, etc.), urban planning and industrial purchasing.
Personally, I really appreciate the alternating work-study schedule, as it gives us time to work on and deepen our understanding of company projects. I also like the projects we get to work on during the year.
What do you think is the best thing about this course?
The diversity of each student's background: we all come from different backgrounds, and the training enables us to progress as a group and learn from each other's qualities.
Where are you on work-study?
I'm on a work-study program at Engie Solutions in Brest, on the Océanopolis site.
What are your missions?
As part of a team of 10 people working on the aquarium site, I'm responsible for monitoring the energy consumption of technical installations (water, gas, electricity). I also carry out functional analyses as part of the replacement of the site's supervision system, which covers around 80 installations. Thirdly, I update equipment and maintenance schedules on the site's maintenance software.
What are your plans for the future?
I'd like to stay with my current company because I appreciate its values. This would enable me to build up my skills across the company's many sites.
